September Reading Homework
Parents/Guardians must initial each night your child reads. Your child must read a minimum of 20 minutes a day five days a week. This log will be turned in and will be taken for a grade at the end of the month. Homework factors into PBIS celebrations at the end of each month. Feel free to print an additional copy below should your child misplace the original.
Math Homework Policy
Math Homework Policy
Dear
Parents,
This year we
are lucky to have agendas/planners . We will be using the agendas to keep track
of homework and other important events.
I am asking that you initial or sign your name in the Math box if your
child does homework. Fifth graders need
to be fluent in multiplication and division facts through twelves. Fifteen to twenty minutes a day practice at
home will help with fluency. They can use flash cards to practice math facts. I also have a protopage where students can
find learning games to practice what we learn in class. You can find it by searching
MsButlerRoosevelt. Reflex Math is
another resource to help students. If
you have any questions please call, email or send a note in the Friday
Folder.
Thanks,
Christine

Bookshelf of Caring
Our March community service project is to create a bookshelf for our Fifth Graders. We would like all of our students to donate a chapter book for the shelf, either new or used. When students need a book they can borrow one from our shelf! Thanks to Keely for kicking it off with her donation of The Hunger Games.
